Google began offering image generation through its Gemini (formerly Bard) AI platform earlier this month, matching the offerings of competitors like OpenAI. Over the past few days, however, social media posts have questioned whether it fails to produce historically accurate results in an attempt at racial and gender diversity. Prior to this recent groundbreaking development, people who claimed that there was an anti-white agenda were labeled conspiracy theorists that were pushing right wing disinformation. Well, I think it’s fair to say that Google has been caught red handed. They have apparently created a propaganda machine that would have Lenin and Marx shaking while shedding tears of joy.
Google senior vice president Prabhakar Raghavan apologized for the error and said it “wasn’t what we intended” for Gemini. He added: ‘We did not want Gemini to refuse to create images of any particular group. And we did not want it to create inaccurate historical images.”
