Was 345 Park Avenue Deliberately Targeted by Pro-Palestinian Radicals?

As of 8:53 PM EDT on July 30, 2025, the investigation into what drove Shane Devon Tamura, a 27-year-old from Las Vegas, to fatally shoot four people at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan on July 28 continues. Tamura, who traveled cross-country with an AR15 rifle and a revolver, died by suicide at the scene.

A map titled “Globalize the Intifada – Zone of Operations” has surfaced online, explicitly marking specific locations, including the building in question, as targets for direct action. Posted in November 2023 by the pro-Palestinian group Within Our Lifetime, the map highlighted various New York City sites, such as Jewish organizations, U.S. companies, and transit hubs like Grand Central Station, labeling them as complicit in “genocide” and “settler-colonization.”

Intifada is an Arabic word for a rebellion or uprising, or a resistance movement. It can also be used to refer to a civilian uprising against oppression.

The map’s caption called for “popular mobilization” at these sites, which critics, including the American Jewish Committee and elected officials, condemned as incitement to violence against Jews and their institutions. The post was later deleted.

NYC’s Mayor Eric Adams suggested a connection to the NFL due to Shane’s football related injuries.
Until the NFL connection is confirmed, we will set aside that theory and focus on the map’s potential influence based on available evidence and reasoned analysis.

There are claims of Tamura shouting “Free Palestine” during the attack, though not confirmed by police.

The “Globalize the Intifada” map outlines a “zone of operations” in Midtown Manhattan, with 345 Park Avenue alongside locations tied to Jewish organizations, the Israeli Consulate, and police stations. Its caption calls for action against “Zionist crimes” in support of Palestinian freedom.

Tamura had a mental health history that included two involuntary holds in Nevada (2022, 2024) and he was prescribed medication. Tamura held a (CCW) Concealed Carry Weapons permit in Las Vegas despite a documented history of mental health issues, raising questions about how he was able to obtain and retain it.

Concealed carry applicants who have a criminal conviction, are on parole, have been voluntarily or involuntarily committed to a mental health facility in the five years before the application, or have a record of habitual alcohol or drug use are prohibited from getting the permit, according to Nevada state law.

With Tamura’s motives shrouded in ambiguity—potentially rooted in mental distress—and the NFL connection still unproven, the chilling detail of a map pinpointing the exact address as a target raises haunting questions about its role in the incident.
