FULL INTERVIEW – Maxwell’s Legal Testimony: Trump Behaved as a Gentleman

In a July 2025 interview with the U.S. Justice Department, Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, stated under oath that she never witnessed former President Donald Trump engaging in inappropriate behavior. The two-day interview, conducted by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, was released in transcripts by the Trump administration, shedding light on Maxwell’s remarks about her social interactions with Trump in the 1990s and early 2000s. Maxwell described Trump as a “gentleman in all respects,” asserting she never saw him in compromising situations, such as those involving massages or activities linked to Epstein’s illicit operations.

Maxwell was explicitly warned at the outset of the interview that lying would constitute an offense for which she has no immunity. Deputy Attorney General Blanche made it clear that while she was granted limited immunity for her statements, meaning the government could not use her truthful disclosures against her, she faced prosecution for any false statements made during the interview. This legal obligation underscored the gravity of her testimony, as any falsehoods could lead to additional charges and an extension of her prison sentence.

The interview, conducted under oath, was part of broader discussions about Trump’s past association with Epstein, a disgraced financier and convicted sex offender. Trump has acknowledged a friendship with Epstein that ended years before Epstein’s 2019 arrest. Maxwell’s statements also addressed other figures, including denying the existence of an Epstein “client list”.
