A Russian hypersonic Kinzhal missile has killed hundreds of people including dozens of top NATO officials in the Ukraine. The Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda published an article by Russian military specialist Victor Baranets in which he described how the Russian army destroyed a secret underground bunker near Lviv with a Kinzhal missile. This bunker was a Ukrainian command center and, being more than 100 meters below the surface, was considered absolutely indestructible. Reports indicate that there were also numerous high-ranking military officers from various NATO countries – dozens of top officials were killed – over 300 killed in total.

The Greek portal ProNews is reporting “dozens of foreign officers were killed when a Kinzhal hypersonic missiles hit the joint Ukrainian-NATO command and communications center. This was a disaster for NATO forces in Ukraine.”

It should be noted that Ukraine has no way of stopping a Kinzhal missile. It is not known whether the Patriot missile system can stop such missiles.

The Kinzhal is the Russian state-of-the-art airborne system with hypersonic aero-ballistic missiles. Russian MiG-31K and MiG-31I fighter-interceptors have been chosen as the carriers of Kinzhal hypersonic missiles that feature radar stealth and high maneuverability and are designed to engage ground and naval targets.

The Kinzhal hypersonic missile can accelerate to ten times the speed of sound and strike targets at a range of over 2,000 km. The missile is capable of maneuvering along the entire flight path and breaching any air and anti-ballistic missile defenses. The missile can be outfitted with both conventional and nuclear warheads weighing 500 kg.

An even more sophisticated weapon, Russia’s Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle, can fly at speeds as high as Mach 27, according to the Kremlin. Another hypersonic, the Zircon anti-ship missile, has also reportedly been developed, but there are no reports of the Zircon or Avangard being used in combat to this date.
